Quiz night

Caroline Mackenzie and Helen Bullock both living in Tain have set themselves a challenge to raise £5000 for Macmillan Nurses by walking part of the Great Wall of China.

When the Brethren of St Duthus Lodge Tain became aware of their challenge they decided to hold a quiz night to raise funds for this very worthy cause. On Saturday 8th March 13 teams met and under quiz master John Mackenzie and an enjoyable evening was held with the winners being the Seaforth Chancers closely followed by the SWRI.

Past Master H Patience along with RWM H Fraser, & John Mackenzie presented the girls with a cheque amounting to £520 who thanked all for their contributions. Thanks were also expressed to Tain Pottery for gifting the main raffle prize and to all brethren who helped on the night or donated prizes.

Caroline went on to explain that they leave for China on the 4th October and will be trekking 6hrs per day for 5 days and hope to cover at least 40 miles and will look forward to a well earned rest for one day before heading home.
